A 'Read-to' Book

When two sisters rescue a tiny sea creature, they learn that kindness brings a magic of its own!

*Plus Bonus Nature Pages For Little Explorers!*

While exploring the rock pools for tiny sea treasures, two little sisters, Goose and Scrunch, discover an odd-looking shell, tangled in an old, crusty fishing net.

But this is no ordinary shell; as they lower it gently into the water, a magical sea creature PEEPS out - much to the delight of his two kind rescuers.

Set on the stunning Scottish shores of Bute, 'The Bubble Buckie of Kilchattan Bay' is a beautifully illustrated tale that celebrates kindness, the magic of nature, and the greatest gift of all: family.

Why parents will love this book, too ...

that emphasises kindness, sharing, and love.
Introduces little ones to the magic of exploring Scottish shores.

BUBBLE BUCKET
Hi! I’m Susan. I moved to the Isle of Bute in 2017, having visited often with my girls  - back when they were still just wee potatoes.

Bute has always felt quite magical to me. Now, as a granny, I wanted to share some of that magic by creating stories to tie in with our island adventures!

I hope these books will spark a little curiosity in young readers - and maybe even inspire them to search for a Bubble Buckie at Kilchattan Bay, or explore Moss Wood for a moochy mole! You never know what you might find ...

Little Explorers Corner - special section in each book

Bubble Buckie Eco Page
Each book has a special corner at the back, dedicated to the natural environments the characters explore.

If bedtime allows, they can learn how to protect the sea life they’ve just read about, discover which animals they might see in the woods, or enjoy nature with some gentle mindfulness practice...

...but if you can't wait to get the little darlings to sleep, you can also stop at 'The End' 😀

Bringing the stories to life ...

I wanted every page to be special, and have loved making each illustration. Check out the timelapse videos below or you can also find out more on my illustrations page.
